I would like to visit schools and talk to students about my work, and life as a scientist. But France is probably too far for me to come, I could not afford it with the prize money – sorry!

It is more about the taking part than the winning, but would be very flattered if I won. I have always been keen to improve the teaching of microbiology in Schools and have some ideas of how this can be done in an interactive way in the class setting. I also have another reason, we are starting a project up on head lice, so I actually want these sent to me rather than flushed down the toilet so I can use them for reserach! Strange the things that us scientists work with!

I don’t really mind if I win or not I honestly just wanted to answer your questions and give you the answers you wanted! If I do win I’d like to continue that into schools, on videos and also educate students about career paths into science.

I don’t really take part to win though that would be nice! I’m taking part to let more people know about science, chemistry, and antibiotics. If everyone understands a bit more about how these things work, we may be able to overcome the challenges of antibiotic resistance together!
