      Lots of them! I like John Nash, who won the Nobel prize for inventing a new bit of maths, and has schizophrenia. There’s a talk by him here: http://www.nobelprize.org/mediaplayer/index.php?id=429 and the film ‘A beautiful mind’ is about his life.

      I think I would go for Robert Koch – he saw the limitations of his own work and theories which makes me respect him.

      My has to Rosalind Franklin, she came up with a way of finding out what a protein or any biological molecule which is used by scientists everywhere! Yet little to no one knows her name and credit other people for her work which makes me sad.

      Francis Collins – He headed up th Human Genome project, he’s now head of the National Institutes for Health in America, and he’s a christian who says some very sensible things!
