Chocolate and marmite flapjack. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I don’t work in a lab, so I don’t tend to make disgusting things at work. I haven’t been in a lab since I was at school, when I set my teacher on fire (it was an accident!).

The hospital labs do have a bit of a distinctive smell, because they are full of samples of poo, wee, blood, pus, and other yucky body bits. It’s not too bad, and everything is kept very clean and bleached regularly.

We regularly use thiols in our reactions These are the chemicals added to gas to make it smell bad. They are also used to make stink bombs.

One of my friends in the lab next door dropped a whole bottle of these on the floor, all the labs smelled really bad for weeks, even though he washed everything repeatedly with bleach!
