Question: What is the difference between octopuses and mussels regarding their circulatory systems? How does that difference influence the mobility of these animals?
Mussels have an open circulatory system, so oxygen moves round their bodies slowly, so they stay in one place. Octopuses have a closed system with three hearts, so they get lots of oxygen and can move really fast.
Octopuses are my favourite animals! They are really clever, with nine brains, and can squeeze through holes the size of their eye.
