Today I have been going through lots of medical records to find out about patients. I need to know what medicines each patient took, and what illnesses they had, and something about their lives. The most difficult bit of this is reading the messy handwriting!

My work today was mostly paperwork with scientific publications to review and edit, student work to check and even exam questions to write. Also an internal application for funding to prepare. Some days it is difficult to get into the lab.

I make new chemicals which I then test to analyse their effects on MRSA. Once I know the effects, I design and make new molecules to try to improve theireffects.
