Yes quite a few things. I have discovered that the cause of “trench fever” can also be found in head lice; that two very different types of relapsing fever are caused by highly related microbes and that these probably had the same origin. I have found a way to grow some microbes that were believed to be impossible to grow and have devised several types of diagnostic tests. This is the fun of being a scientist.

I have discovered a few things. However, I’m currently still early on in my career so hopefully there are many more things still waiting for me to discover them!

Yes! Like Rob, I’m also quite early on in my career so only a few discoveries so far! The problem with making discoveries though is that they often lead to asking more questions. More questions means more experiments – leading to more discoveries…and more questions! Hmm. Best get back to work!

Hi! I am still quite early on in my career but I did find something new about microbes that live in your mouth and how they change when you take sport supplements. I also found something new about the chemicals I’m working with and I’m just getting more data so I can publish it in a journal in the (hopefully) near future!! So excited!

I have found little new things quite a lot – and as part of the team working in my hospital, I help to save lives every week!

But I am only a baby scientist, so I have not found big new things on my own yet, just helped other people to do them.
