Yes, as medical technology has improved, average life span has moved upwards. However, I do believe there is probably an upper limit on the length of a healthy human life. After a certain length of time, diseases like cancer and arthritis become infinitely more liekly and I don’t think you’d be able to fight all the age related diseases fast enough to prevent death.
Yes – we already live much longer than in the past. Providing there are no big disasters like global warming or a bad flu epidemic, people will live longer and healthier lives. But we will still die.
