  Well, you could say that humans are super-intelligent apes!
  We don’t know exactly what makes humans more intelligent. But in the future it might be possible – not sure why anyone would want to make super-intelligent apes though.

  Apes may well evolve to be intelligent as humans did in the past.
  
  I don’t know a way of manipulating their intelligence scientifically in the present time to produce a Planet of the Apes scenario though. It sounds quite far fetched to me. However, it does make for a good film!
