I was interested in science when I was a child but I wouldn’t say I loved it or it was my favourite subject, when you are that young you are inquisitive but you’re only just beginning to understand things. It was only when I went to secondary school I started to love science and start to think about including it (somehow) in my career choices.
I consumed books in the “Horrible Science” series as well as the “Horrible Histories” series. I loved facts and ideas and things I could know and learn. The world around me always fascinated me and I liked the fact that we can get real, solid and true answers about the questions we ask about it. Every time I threw a rock in a pond, I’d get ripples, every time light shines through a prism there is a rainbow.
I have since realised that sometimes the more important questions in life do not have nice easy solid answers but I still like the way that in science things are right or wrong, proven or unproven…
