I would go back to the beginning of secondary school and tell myself and my parents to send me to a different school, because I hated it there. I was bored, miserable, and got bullied a lot.

Also I would ask my boyfriend out several years earlier.

(Travelling into the past with time machines is likely to be physically impossible, it may be possible to travel to the future though. However, I will ignore this and think about it anyway as sometimes these kind of questions do allow us to reassess our values as a person)

I remember a time at school where many of the people in my year bullied a chap who I knew. I normally got on okay with him and tried to be friendly and tell the other guys to leave him alone. Obviously I couldn’t be around all the time so he still got teased etc. anyway while I wasn’t around.

One time he decided it was a good idea to try and redirect the bullying in my direction (it was never going to work, as most of the people doing the bullying were on pretty good terms with me, which is why I could stop them teasing him while I was around). At this point, I made some pretty nasty comments which I immediately regretted. I wish I could take them back.

Unfortunately we all make stupid mistakes and hurt each other and cause pain, we have to realise that we are not perfect and actually that we have the potential to be quite nasty. As we don’t have a time machine, we have to live with it. We have to in some way realise who and what we are.

I’m a Christian. In Christianity, we are all seen as fallen and broken with the potential to cause great hurt. However, we can also be forgiven and made whole again by God through the work of Jesus.
