• Question: I want to be a biomedical scientist when I am older, would you recommend doing a year in industry?

      It can be a good idea.

      I did an industrial placement. The money I earned was very useful in helping me to pay for university.

      Sometimes the experience can also look good on job applications.

      There is probably not much point in doing work experience that isn’t relevant though. It would have to be medical or sciencey for a biomedical scientist…
