I find most science interesting but because there is a lot to know, scientists learn a lot in one area so that they can figure out where there are gaps and where people don’t know things. When we know more about an area we are more able to discover new useful things. You don’t want to discover something that has already been discovered before!

I work between chemistry and biology. I also do a lot of work with bacteria. I like to work in the area between sciences because I get to learn more about both fields and to try different things. In my biology, I use skills that I never would in chemistry. In chemistry, I use skills and knowledge I would never use in biology. I like this variety, it keeps me on my toes.

I think microorganisms are cool because they are alive and they grow and divide and socialise and we can’t even see them they are so small! I think that’s great!
