Well, I did think about being a vet at school, and I spent a lot of time as a child on my grandparent’s sheep farm. I used to particularly enjoy helping out at lambing time by bottlefeeding poorly lambs, and cuddling them in front of the fire to keep them warm!

I am also getting pet rabbits to live in my house soon – looking forward to that, my friend has a beautiful pet rabbit which I look after sometimes.

But I think I am better at doing maths than looking after animals. I can sit in the warm with my computer, but my grandparents on their farm had to go out in the cold, and get up in the middle of the night, and could not take a holiday unless someone else looked after the farm animals. So I like my job better.

I currently only work with bacteria and not animals. I wouldn’t mind working with animals but it is not currently relevant to my research.

I don’t really know what you mean by “in animals”, are you talking about animal testing?
