• Question: Do you think it is possible to create an antibiotic useful for all the illnesses?

      No – antibiotics only work on bacteria, so they are no use for other diseases, for example they don’t work on colds which are caused by viruses.

      Antibiotics only kill bacteria. They will never be useful for cancer, heart disease, broken limbs etc.

      It may be theoratically possible to find an antibiotic which does work on all bacteria. Though I do think this is unlikely!
